The Episcopal Academy, celebrating its 225th year in 2010, is the kind of client that helps Silverpoint expand what it can do for all of its clients. In addition to a great design with a lot of attention to detail, behind the scenes the Silverpoint SchoolSuite® database is fully synchronized with EA’s proprietary SIS, and single sign-on (SSO) with the Blackboard LMS improves the user experience of the entire EA technology ecosystem.
Silverpoint blurred the lines of traditional and social media communications with Esse@EA, which pulls content from SchoolSuite, Twitter and YouTube.
The site’s design and photography help prospective parents and student really get a feel what it’s like to be an EA student. Small details, such as animated stripes of the footer articulate the qualities that a student aspires to live by both inside and outside the school community. The Virtual Tour uses photos and video to take you through 10 areas of the school’s beautiful campus. As you zoom closer within each area on the main map more detailed locations appear, letting users feel as they are moving around the campus.
Silverpoint worked with EA to accentuate certain special areas of the site including The Arts section, with unique design treatments for this important part of the school’s curriculum.
And let’s not forget about the always important aspect of data; Web Services are used that allow for a fully synchronized custom database so all student, parent, faculty and calendar information is automatically updated and refreshed. Single Sign-On functionality with Blackboard makes the users' transition between portal areas and their Blackboard LMS a seamless experience.
