When you have a school of 3000 students spread across four campus in the heart of Indonesia's capitol, you better have a good website. JIS is a wonderful school – large, complicated, and eager to have its distinctions reflected in the site.

The design finds that intersection of geography – an organic, tropical place – with a school full of educational verve – and, at the same time, provides the sense that JIS as a campus is an oasis from the roar that is Jakarta. Batik, just as one example, plays out in subtle and important ways.

A slew of interesting approaches to content stand the site up as one of the best out there.The campus tour with fun hot spots; JIS Live, a cool media center; the JIS Moments, which is a unique way to capture the day to day. The design of Indonesia and Jakarta, through the eyes of one of their extremely talented photographers, comes alive with this treatment. A great approach to their Essential Qualities, fundamental to JIS, received the treatment it needed.

JISNet, the new school portal, includes Moodle, Google Apps, and Elgg integration, not to mention full Active Directory SSO, which allows a user single access to key school apps. Four weekly parent bulletins and multiple daily divisional bulletins for faculty and students managed by multiple people provide critical internal news and announcements .
