The Roxbury Latin School
A premier all-boys school, one of the oldest in the country, and uniquely positioned to be truly need-blind in its admissions process, Roxbury Latin is an astonishing place; likewise Silverpoint needed to deliver a site that was simple, celebrated a single-sex education and still was innovative and forward-thinking.

The site Silverpoint developed was extremely well-received, but it was this innovation and working with great people on staff there that led to URL, a section of the site that put the website on the map and in many respects defined what most independent schools refer to as a “mash-up”. With active social media channels – twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Flikr, Facebook – and a parent community that wanted quick access to important channels like calendar and news subscriptions, URL has become the center of the site, an aggregate of diverse content that relays the daily life of the school. It conveniently serves as a window into RL for prospects but is also an efficient communication tool for all constituents; elements like the “Mod Clock”, which shows students the period of the day (and how many minutes are left in recess!).
Behind the scenes, data is flowing seamlessly to Raisers Edge from profile updates made on the site, simplifying the data management process. Roxbury Latin also took advantage of Silverpoint’s monitor views, and have a terrific solution in place that allows faculty to post updates and announcements directly into the website, so that they are broadcast to all of the flat screens hanging around campus, a massive time saver.
