Stevens Cooperative School
With campuses in two cities, Stevens Cooperative School makes good use of its website to keep everyone connected.
- Online Newsletter
- iCal Integration
- Student/Parent Directory
School communications are centered around the biweekly Fortnightly Bulletin located in the News section of the site. The Bulletin is a SchoolSuite Newsletter implementation that rounds up news and publishes itself at 2:00 every other Thursday. With an automatic Smart Printview, the newsletter can be browsed online or printed out, and when printed it automatically shows full article details instead of Read More links. With the Newsletter, the school eliminated a cumbersome process of producing a newsletter in Microsoft Word, and instead simply does it all through the website. Archives of past issues are automatically created, and the school has even introduced photos, since SchoolSuite makes that much easier to do well than Microsoft Word did.
Another cumbersome print publication that has been e-liminated (haha) is the Parent/Student Directory. The directory has been moved online and is now searchable, and also features a print-optimized version for parents who still want to print it out and put it on the refrigerator.
iCalendar feeds allow the school to inject calendar events right into the parents' Outlook, iCal, Google Calendar, or other popular calendar programs.
And let's not forget about the design! The character of this incredibly unique child-focused progressive school has been perfectly reflected in the design that Silverpoint created, and three years later it continues to wow prospective families and engage prospective educators.
