The Williams School

Team Mystic, as the group from Silverpoint who arrived on site for a fun week at the Williams School came to be known, built a tremendously innovative, beautiful, spot-on website and finished in about three months, thanks to a great staff there to work with.

Great touches abound on this site. A clever use of Google fonts for headers, calendars, paging, FAQs, and the footer make the site visually interesting but still easy to maintain. Mega navigation dropdowns have an interesting, wide format with columns.

The homepage contains a simple slideshow with subtle, yet oversized prev/next controls, and quotes from the community, supplemented by a Spotlight / News and Events slider that is slick, using a handy overlay to make the spotlight news photo round (which allows the admins to avoid a lot of cropping). Homepage buttons are editable in SchoolSuite, even though they appear to look like graphics, and the backgrounds alternate automatically.

The communiciations keeps on coming with the Williams School on their mash-up and the Facts At a Glance can’t be beat.

With so many moving parts and so many concerned parties, a web redesign always has the potential to balloon far past its allotted production time frame. We were extremely relieved, though, to see that Silverpoint's Accelerated Design process worked precisely as advertised. The week-long visit concentrated attention and was vital to focusing otherwise engaged stakeholders at the appropriate times. It also built a great rapport with the Silverpoint team, which was reinforced by their always impressive responsiveness throughout design and launch. Our community's response to the site has been tremendously positive and our in-house users are delighted with the ease of working with SchoolSuite.
