Silverpoint provides comprehensive website hosting options for its clients, but allows schools to host their website themselves if they so desire. Depending on a client's technical accumen, Silverpoint will also provide secure and total access to their web site at no additional charge. Though most of our clients choose to host their website with us, some schools, either for reasons of policy or technical integration, prefer to host the website on campus. Silverpoint can help you decide which arrangement is best for your school.

Statistics
Weekly reports summarizing website activity are provided as part of Silverpoint's hosting. Extensive graphical, tabular and full data reports are created with Google's industry-leading Urchin software and are available online.
Data Security
Physical access to the hosting facility is limited to key Silverpoint employees and is verified by several layers of security, including pass cards, rack keys, an electronic fingerprint verification system, and an electronic facial recognition system. The SchoolSuite databases are located on a dedicated server, separate from the web servers, and not directly accessible via the internet. Direct and immediate access to the servers is provided for Silverpoint’s technicians on a 24/7 basis via DRAC equipment, which are micro-computers that “live” inside of each server and allow Silverpoint’s technicians to work in a secure environment, as if they were sitting at the machine itself.
Data Backup
Incremental data backups are performed on a nightly basis and a full server backup is performed on a weekly basis to safeguard client data. Anti-virus software is provided on all web servers and is monitored, maintained and updated by Silverpoint staff.Network Hardware
Silverpoint uses enterprise level Dell hardware, with redundant power supplies, redundant SCSI hard drives, and Remote Access cards, allowing for immediate access in case of emergency. We have dedicated servers for web, database, and mail services, so as to ensure maximum security and reliability.
Web Site Monitoring
Silverpoint's Internet services are monitored 24 hours per day by staff in the network operations center to ensure reliability and speed of the Internet connection and server network. In addition, Silverpoint provides direct monitoring of all hosted websites during extended business hours, 8.00am EST – 8.00pm EST, Monday through Friday. During non-coverage hours, Silverpoint staff have automated processes to monitor website and webserver status and are alerted to any issues that arise.
Silverpoint's Data Center
Our Web Hosting is provided on Silverpoint-owned dedicated servers collocated at a leading ISP facility for direct, fast, and reliable Internet service. Network Access Corporation’s facility in Cedar Knolls, NJ provides 24/7 network monitoring and is one of the largest and most fault tolerant networks in the region, composed of a full mesh of OC3 (155 Megabit) and OC12 (622 Megabit) circuits linking directly to most of the major networks including Sprint, UUNET, Cable & Wireless, PSI, AOL, Level 3, Genuity, and many others providing lightning fast access for even the most demanding web applications and services. Power is provided via uninterruptible power supplies and an auto-start, auto-transfer backup generator that keeps servers up and running in the event of a total power failure. A complete and redundant climate control and security system and gas fire suppression system round out the data center's offerings.
